Our Team

Dr. Diaz is a licensed therapeutic optometrist. He graduated with honors from Florida Atlantic University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry where he was awarded the Optometric Chancellor's Scholarship and named to the President's List. In 2013, he earned his doctorate in optometry as well as a second bachelor’s degree in Vision Science. He is currently a member of the Tidewater Optometric Society, Virginia Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association.

Doctor Diaz has a strong passion for optometry. As an optometrist, he is skilled in the matter of prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses for a variety of refractive errors. As a primary eye health provider, he is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of visual and ocular health related conditions such as dry eyes, macular degeneration, diabetes, glaucoma etc.

Dr. Diaz has been servicing the Hampton road community for the past decade. Furthermore, Dr. Diaz is fluent is both English and Spanish.

Dr. Bumgardner is a licensed therapeutic optometrist located in Virginia. A native of West Virginia, Dr. Bumgardner received her bachelor’s in chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan College, graduating with honors of summa cum laude. Afterward, she attended Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where she completed a second bachelor’s degree in vision science and ultimately earned her doctorate in optometry. She is currently a member of the Tidewater Optometric Society, Virginia Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association.

Dr. Bumgardner always knew she wanted to become an optometrist since getting her first pair of glasses in the fourth grade. She enjoys practicing optometry every day, whether it's prescribing glasses and contact lenses for vision issues or diagnosing and treating ocular health conditions, such as diabetes, dry eyes, glaucoma, or macular degeneration.

When not working, Dr. Bumgardner enjoys cheering on the Mountaineers, reading, cooking, and spending time with her husband and their two beautiful daughters.
